Come On Let’s Celebrate!

Philippians 4:4-7

‘Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus’.

Psalm 118:24

‘This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it’.

My thoughts recently have been focused on the privilege and joy of celebration. Conversations with Church members reminiscing about Penygroes Convention and Ablaze, particularly the privilege and excitement in meeting together with like-minded Christians gathered to celebrate Jesus. I have missed large gatherings and the added blessings of gathered celebration. These have been such positive and encouraging times of gathered Church. The moments of intense challenge to live for Jesus. Growing in my faith and love of Jesus. The friendships made from people outside of our regular circle. What a privilege to be part of a movement larger than my local church.

We are encouraged (Hebrews 10:25) to meet together. It is always good to gather as local church. It is always good to gather as local towns and communities but what a joy and privilege to gather as the Apostolic Church UK and rejoice in what God is doing among us. Over the past ten years we haven’t had the opportunity but RE:UNION (8th-10th April 2026) provides us with this opportunity to celebrate together. Make a special effort to be there.

The scriptures catalogue the benefit of celebration gatherings. These should never be underestimated. I look back on my Christian walk and remember encounters with God that shaped me and helped and matured me as a consequence of gathering together. This could not have occurred locally. Being exposed to the larger Christian community is a massive boost to our faith.

Celebrations are part of the Biblical journey of His chosen people. Times of reflection, assessing where we are and receiving direction for the next steps in our maturing in Christ. Young and old rejoicing together in an atmosphere of worship.

Celebrating God’s faithfulness (Exodus 12) - PAST

Celebrating God’s blessings (Ephesians 1:3) - PRESENT

Celebrating God’s goodness (Ephesians 3:20) – FUTURE
